Client Newsletter May 2018This month we continue to work hard preparing for the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) coming into play on 25 May 2018. We warmly welcome on board a new member of staff Alex Hesketh our new Business Development Executive, along with a number of new clients ranging from a utility company to vets practices through our partnership with the British Veterinary Association. General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)With the 25th May fast approaching, we will be sending out an addendum to our Terms of Business to comply with the new Regulations. If you do need help or require any advice the best place to start is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) https://ico.org.uk/ We will keep you posted with any further updates or changes. In-house Lawyer runs the London MarathonWe are extremely proud and inspired by Rachael Ward our in-house lawyer, who ran in the London Marathon last month for Bliss Baby Charity. After having 3 premature babies she wanted to give something back to the amazing charity and she certainly did just that. She completed the gruelling run in just 4 hours and 47 mins and raised an incredible amount of £1,500. Rachael is back in the office in one piece along with two very sore feet, and is available to discuss any queries or problems with defended or contentious cases you may have. RECAP – Information required for the Letter Before Claim (LBC)Please remember if you are instructing us to send an LBC, you need to provide us with the required documents, or enough information in order for us to proceed. Failure to do so will result in a delay in the process. If it was a verbal agreement, we will need to know the date and details of the agreement. If it was a written agreement, you need to confirm the date and either provide us with a copy of the agreement or confirm that you will be able to provide one if it is requested. Another gentle reminder – all clients now have the ability to instruct us to send an LBC via our online Debt Manager system. Simply, select “Issue LBC” via “Instruct LRC” in the drop down menu rather than having to type it into “non-standard instruction”. Choosing the correct instruction from the drop down menu ensures that we can prioritise your instructions and enables them to be dealt with by the appropriate team. New face in the officeWe are delighted to announce the recruitment of Alex Hesketh as our Business Development Executive. Alex will be working alongside our Head of Business Development, Tim Turner to help us grow our client base and will be responsible for our marketing activities. She is a first class BA (Hons) Marketing and Events graduate and has recently returned back to the UK after living in Sydney, Australia. Alex comes to us after a 4 year stint at Stonegate, where she began her career in sales and marketing. Pre-Legal Face to Face VisitsWe are currently working on a new and improved service for pre- legal face to face visits with your customers. This service will be ideal for cases that you may not wish to take court action on. We will keep you informed with pricing and any new information. |
