It has been over 2 years since we last undertook a review of our fees and we wanted to let you know that with effect from the 21st February there will be a couple of changes to all of our existing fee scales. We are also in the process of reviewing fee scales individually and should there be any additional changes we will notify you of these.

We are making a small increase to our letter before claim charge from £8 to £8.50. We believe this still delivers great value for money – the letter spans to 14 sides in order for it to be sent to the customer with all the documentation that is required under the Debt Recovery Pre-Action Protocol.

LRC‘s in-house lawyer, Rachael Ward‘s hourly rate is increasing to £225 per hour, which continues to be a very reasonable and highly competitive rate within the legal marketplace. Rachael is also able to offer a fixed fee pre-legal “triage” service to review documentation and provide recommendations on whether litigation is a viable option which is particularly useful for disputed and contentious accounts.

In addition, just a reminder that we are no longer offering information gathering or personal financial statement visits. We have replaced these with our mini and full asset trace reports which include a site visit and provide comprehensive information about the subject which will clearly assist in the decision making process in terms of legal action. These reports are recommended for higher value type debts where Court fees can be high which puts greater importance on ensuring that Court action is the appropriate route to follow. Lower cost services we offer which can still be very much of help in the litigation decision making process include our Insight and Insight Plus services which provide information as to insolvency, home ownership and unpaid County Court Judgments.
